Uterine adenosarcoma, a rare malignancy, is a variant of malignant mixed mullerian tumors of the uterus. The most common symptom is abnormal vaginal bleeding and the most common physical finding is a polypoid mass protruding into a dilated cervical canal. It is usually treated with total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Adjuvant pelvic radiation has been used when there is more than one unfavorable prognostic factor. In general, it has been thought to be relatively less-aggressive than other MMMT although long-term follow-up is still essential in all patients.
