Nasal steps of peripheral field change was detected by Goldmann perimeter in 25 eyes (31.3%) among 80 eyes of established glaucoma patients with disk changes. This field defect, though known for many decades, was rather underestimated. This is an important finding in the diagnosis of glaucoma, and also important imply for further examination and analysis of central visual field. The easily performed and time saving peripheral field examination of nasal step should be emphasised in the examination of glaucoma patient.
