Tilted disc is a kind of congential anomaly of the ocular fundus, which is characterized by situs inversus of the optic disc, inferonasal conus, and hypopigmentation at nasal lower quadrant of the retina. Sometimes it may cause bitemporal visual field defects which simulate the visual field” defects in chiasmal lesions. Blurred margins of the disc may be confused with papilledema. 4 males and 6 females of 20 eyes, aged from 7 to 46, years, with at least one of the above mentioned fundus characteristics, were reported. 4 among 20 eyes had situs inversus only, 1 eye had if1ferior conus the remainings had situs inversus, inferonasal conus and tessellation of inferonasal retina. All patients were myopic, and 19 among 20 eyes were myopic astigmatism. Scotometry examination revealed that 5 patients had bitemporal visual field defects, 2 patients had monocular temporal visual field defects, and that 3 patients showed no visual field defect.. The most specific finding to those patients is subnormal visual acuity; only ond eye had, corrected visual acuity 1.0, one eye 0.9, 8 eyes' between 0.8-0.7, and 10 eyes under 0.6. The recognization of the tilted disc may prevent fruitless neurodiagnostic studies performed in the patients. For the abnormal refraction often associated in this condition, the early correction of the refractive errors in childhood may help the development of the visual acuity and avoid amblyopia.
