Using Tespamin in Radial Keratotomy

摘要

放射狀角膜切開術後，由於角膜水腫消失以及傷口癒合的結果，近視減輕的效果會退化(regression)。吾人利用Tespamin抑制細胞分裂的能力，使用於術後的患者。18名使用Tespamin的患者，在術後3個月，自覺視力的球面相等值平均減少3.41D。而未使用Tespamin的12名患者，平均改善為2.29D。兩者差異為1.12D。也就是說，使用Tespamin者比未使用者，自覺視力的球面相等值加強了48.9%的效果。

The regression after radial keratotomy is due to the decrease of corneal edema and to corneal wound healing. Tespamin (Thio-TEPA) may inhibit cellular mitosis in the pharmacologic effect. We use Tespamin, which may delay corneal wound healing, to enhance the effect of radial keratotomy.
18 cases using Tespamin for 3 months after radial keratotomy have an average decrease of 3.41D of spherical equivalent by subjective refraction. 12 cases without Tespamin have an average decrease of 2.29D. The difference is 1.12D. Tespamin achieves 48.9% enhancement of radial keratotomy.
