Corneal Endothelial Density in High Myopes

高度近視的角膜內皮細胞密度

在臨床上我們偶爾會發現高度近視者的角膜內皮細胞數目較少,所以我們想要研究探討高度近視者的角膜內皮細胞密度是否不同。我們收集了五十隻近視度數大於八百度者做為實驗組和三十隻正視眼或近視度數小於三百度者做為對照組,他們的年齡介於十五歲和二十五歲之間,平均為二十點八歲。被檢查者除了近視外並無其他眼疾,也未曾戴過隱型眼鏡,每隻眼都測量其屈光狀態,角膜弧度,角膜大小,角膜表面積,眼軸長,和角膜內皮細胞密度並加以比較。結果顯示兩組在角膜弧度和眼軸長的差異上具有統計學的意義,而在角膜大小,角膜表面積,和角膜內皮細胞密度的差異上並無統計學的意義。但是同時我們發現有七隻)佔了百分之十四)高度近視眼的角膜內皮細胞密度小於等於每平方毫米兩千三百個,值得我們注意。

Low endothelial counting was occasionally encountered among the high myopes in clinical practice. We design this study to see whether the corneal endothelial density is different in high myopes. Fifty high myopic eyes (refractive power above -8 D) and thirty control group eyes (emmetropia or refractive power below-3D) were enrolled in this study. Their age ranges from 15 to 25 years with a mean of 20.8 years. Subjects with any other ocular disease or previous contact lens wearing were excluded. We examine their refraction, corneal curvature, corneal size, corneal surface area, axial length, and endothelial cell density. The results show significant difference in corneal radius and axial length between high myopic and control group, but not in corneal size, corneal surface area and endothelial cell density. Meanwhile, decreased endothelial density (below or equal to 2300 cells/mm^2) is found in 7 eyes (14%) of high myopic groups.
