Case Series: Enterovirus D68 Infection with Severe Neurological Complications in Taiwan, 2016-2017

摘要

Since November 2017, the surveillance system of Taiwan Centers for Disease Control has detected increasing number of Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) infections, followed by several notifications of EV-D68 infection with severe neurological complications. From 2016 to December 2017, there were already 10 laboratory-confirmed cases. This article summarized the clinical course of complicated cases to alert and prompt the clinicians to report and collect specimens from suspected cases manifesting fever, acute respiratory tract infection followed by paralysis.
