The purpose of this study was to explore the lived experience of eleven secondigravida in the role transition period at early postpartum. This study was conducted by the phenomenological method. The results show that the lived experience of the secondigravida can be categorized as follows: (1) sense of achievement and satisfaction; (2) comparison the experience; (3) trying hard to be the mother of two children; (4) comparing with the first child in order to identify with the second child; (5) promoting acceptance by the first child; (6) coping with grief; (7) replanning and rearranging life patterns. The result of this study can be applied as a reference for nurses when taking care of secondigravida during the role transition period.
