摘要

地形圖是利用地形學的知識，透過地圖的方法，定性、定量的呈現地表的各種形態、作用、物質及年代。地形圖可以提供迅速、明確、易懂的地形資訊，是地形學的第二種語言。如與其他地質、土壤、農業、林業、工程配合使用，更能提供土地評價、區域規劃、經濟發展、災害防治等方面的參考。優良的地形圖端賴高品質的地形資料及繪圖技術。

The aim of geomorphological mapping is to present the morphology, materials, processes and age of landform, quantitatively and qualitatively. Since it can provide fast, easily-understood and useful geomorphic information, it is considered as the 'second' languages of landforms. Geomorphological maps are various in types, depending on the purposes, scales and major geomorphic features considered. Incooperate with maps of geology, soil, agriculture, forestry and civil engineering, they provide the basis for terrain analysis, region planning, economic development and mitigation of natural hazards, etc Successful geomorphological mapping is dependent upon high quality geomorphological data and superior skilled cartographers.
