West-Holland coast large scale reclamation project, a large scale development plan with multi-goal, can support an extra space for urban development and resolve the problem of scarce land. Kansai International Airport Plan, a reclamation plan offshore, reduces the impact of environment problem. Kaohsiung Reclamation Project also focuses on the urban development and airport relocation project under the situation of scarce land. First, this article will present the government regulations and laws that are related to reclamation. The contents and spirit of ”Design Standard of Reclamation (Draft)” that is composed by Construction Division of Ministry of Interior will also be presented. Then, by focusing on those reclamation projects shown above, this article will describe the project characteristics on their environment, planing and designing. The purpose for the whole article is to provide a helpful reference for engineering designers to their tasks.
