The main purpose of this study was to explore the correlation among working stress health promoting lifestyle, smoking, drinking and betel chewing behaviors of taxi drivers in Taipei City. The data was collected through structural questionnaires or interview with valid enrollment of taxi drivers. The main findings included<BR>1. Taxi drivers' working stress symptoms scored highest on the subscale of physiological symptoms and lowest on the fatigue subscale.<BR>2. Health promoting lifestyle scale was consisted of self-actualization subscale, health responsibility subscale, nutrition subscale, exercise subscale, stress management subscale and interpersonal support subscale. Taxi drivers scored highest on the subscale of stress management, and lowest on the exercise subscale.<BR>3. health promoting lifestyle were positive correlated to working stress symptoms. According to stepwise mutiple regression analysis, body mass index, health resource, smoking behaviors, betel chewing behaviors and the fatigue subscale were the significant predictors and contribute 33.4% variance to Health-Promotion Lifestyles.<BR>Base on the findings of this study, recommendations were as follows: medical health institution should be set up in taxi drivers Administration, help taxi drivers to give up smoking, drinking and betel chewing behaviors, and to set up health promoting lifestyle.
