睡眠時間長短與成人健康風險行爲之探討-給職場工作者之建議

Association between Sleep Duration and Adult Health-risk Behaviors-Suggestions for Employees in Workplace

背景與目的:睡眠品質與職場安全問題一直為大家所熟知和討論,但睡眠時間長短是否與職場工作者健康行為有關,則咸少有文章提出。本研究利用全國性的健康問卷調查資料,探討不同睡眠時間在18歲以上的成人,對其健康風險行為之相關影響,希望透過實證結果對睡眠過長或過短的職場工作者提出適當建議。材料與方法:本文採用2002年台灣「國民健康促進知識、態度與行為調查」的全國性資料,以探討依變項[二分類為“睡眠不正常-睡眠過短(每晚≦6小時)或過長(每晚≧9小時)”及“睡眠正常(每晚7-8小時)”]進行邏輯斯複迴歸分析(Multiple logistic regression)。結果:本研究分析結果,發現無論是睡眠過短組(每晚≦6小時)或睡眠過長組(每晚≧9小時)中,其不規律吃早餐、肥胖、及主觀身體健康狀況不良的發生風險都比睡眠正常組為高。睡眠過少組中,在喝酒、抽菸、嚼檳榔、靜態久坐(每天≧12小時)、憂鬱狀態及慢性病的發生風險都較高;睡眠過長組中,則在不規律運動的發生風險較高。由此結果,發現對於18歲以上的成年人而言,睡眠過短(每晚≦6小時)對健康行為及身心狀況的影響比較明顯。本研究主要希望可提供睡眠不正常的的職場工作者,注意影響健康行為及身心狀況異常的風險,特別是睡眠少於6小時的族群,更需多加提醒。

Background: The relationship between sleep and workplace safety is more familiar to the general population, but the association between sleep duration and health-risk behaviors is less discussed. This study used data acquired from the National Health Questionnaire to investigate the effect of different sleep duration on health-risk behaviors of adults over 18 years of age. The results could be used to provide proper health education to those with inadequate sleep duration.Material and Methods: The data was collected from the Taiwan National Survey on Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice of Health Promotion 2002. A multiple logistic regression model was used to analyze the dependent variables [binary variable: abnormal sleep-short sleep duration (≦6 h/night) or long sleep duration (≧9 h/night)-and normal sleep duration (7–8 h/night)].Results: The results show that in abnormal sleep duration groups (including ≦6 h/night and ≧9 h/night), characteristic such as having breakfast irregularly, obesity, and undesirable perceptional health condition are higher than those of the normal sleep duration group. In the short sleep duration group, drinking alcohol, smoking, chewing betel nut, prolonged sitting (≧12 h/day), depression status, and risk of chronic diseases are higher than those of the normal sleep duration group. In the long sleep duration group, the incidence of irregular physical activity was found to be higher. Therefore, these findings suggested that short sleep duration has a significant influence on health behavior, mental and physical condition of adults (over 18 years of age). In particular, the employees in workplace with a short sleep duration must be reminded more frequently about the risks. This research hopes to raise awareness of the health risks associated with insufficient sleep, especially to those who sleep less than 6 hours per day.
