In this case study, after the patient was admitted to the hospital, the white blood cell test result continued to be 0. No improvement after injection of white blood cell growth hormone, and then, patient died due to other complications. It is impossible to determine whether the patient was due to medication or infection control is not as expected or the patient has other immune- related diseases, and also has no response to white blood cell growth hormone therapy. Laboratories should establish standard operation procedures for eliminating test interference to help physicians reduce unnecessary tests and improve medical quality and patient safety.
