臺東區農業改良場於2014年自亞蔬-世界蔬菜中心引進翼豆種原,於2014年至2021年間篩選其長日照結莢潛力種原,進行選育與純化、品系選拔、品系比較試驗、春作不同月份栽培試驗、產量試驗及性狀檢定試驗後,選育出新品種翼豆‘臺東2號-春豐’(TOT4963P22)。新品種豆莢為綠色,無莢斑,莢翼邊緣鋸齒形狀為銳鋸齒;莢長極短,約19.2 cm。本品種具優良之長日照結莢特性,秋作與春作均可種植,尤以春作生產更具優勢,產量達每公頃15 ton,為‘臺東1號-青翠’(9.3 ton ha^(-1))的1.6倍。春作採收時間可由5月中旬延長至6月下旬,大幅延長翼豆產期,極具商品價值,有助於提升臺東地區原民豆類產業。
Winged bean germplasm of the Word Vegetable Center was introduced to Taitung district agricultural research and extension station in 2014. From 2014 to 2021, the lines with long-day-podding trait were selected and purified from the introduced germplasm. The selected lines were then jointed the line comparison trials, trials of different planting month in spring, yield, and DUS examination. Finally, the line 'TOT4963P22' was selected and named as 'Taitung No.2-Chun-Fong' in 2022. The pod of the 'Taitung No.2-Chun-Fong' is green with serrulate pod wing but without spots, and pod length is very short (19.2 cm). It also possesses a good long-day podding ability that can extend the harvest season about 1.5 month in spring when compared to winged bean 'Taitung No.1'. In addition, the yield of the new variety in spring is 15 tons pods per hectares, i.e., 1.6 times more than 'Taitung No.1'. Consequently, winged bean 'Taitung No.2-Chun-Fong' is capable of helping drive both the winged bean industry and the indigenous vegetable industry of Taitung.
