《平閩十八洞》的研究史及其在臺灣與南洋的傳衍

Dissemination and Research Regarding Ping Min Shi Ba Dong in Taiwan and Southeast Asia

摘要


《平閩十八洞》成書於閩南,在臺灣、南洋皆可見流傳,一九二○至一九四○年代,受到多位學者注目,二十一世紀初期更出現一波研究熱潮。然而,《平閩十八洞》在臺灣、南洋傳衍的情況,卻始終缺乏關注。本文首先透過回顧《平閩十八洞》學術史,反映其研究價值。其次,《平閩十八洞》在一九一○年代被改編為戲劇在臺灣演出,在一九四○年代皇民化時期,仍找到一絲傳衍空間。再其次,克勞婷.蘇爾夢(Claudine Salmon)曾在印尼三寶壟(Semarang, Indonesia)見到道光八年(戊子,1828)《平閩全傳》,一九三○年代,袁文成(Wan Boon Seng)則曾以「峇峇文」(Baba Malay)翻譯成《楊文廣征南閩》(Yeo Boon Kong Cheng Lam-Ban)。《平閩十八洞》承載閩南文化的歷史記憶,隨著閩南人向外遷徙,在臺灣被改編成戲劇持續傳衍;於南洋則出現在地化的「峇峇文」譯本,當可謂是一條從閩南文化延伸向臺灣、南洋流動的軌跡與鏈結。

Ping Min Shi Ba Dong is a popular novel written in the south of Fujian Province, spreading to Taiwan and Southeast Asia. From the 1920s to the 1940s, many scholars paid attention to it, and a large number of studies appeared in the early 2000s. However, the dissemination of Ping Min Shi Ba Dong in Taiwan and Southeast Asia has not received much attention. At the beginning of this paper, I will focus on the academic history of Ping Min Shi Ba Dong, talk about its research value, and the contemporary significance of this novel being adapted into drama in Taiwan from the 1910s to the 1940s. Furthermore, with the discovery of the Ping Min Quanzhuan (1828) by Salmon Claudine in Semarang, Indonesia, and the Baba Malay translation of Yeo Boon Kong Cheng Lam-Ban by Wan Boon Seng in the 1930s, it can be seen that Ping Min Shi Ba Dong connects the historical memory with the path of Minnan culture flowing to Taiwan and South East Asia.
