Inflammatory Pseudotumor in Temporal Area-A Case Report

發炎性假性腫瘤是一種不常見的良性腫瘤，其發生原因未知，最常見於肺部。它極少見於口腔及頭顱顏面部。我們報告一例發炎性假性腫瘤，其發生部位在病患之左顳部。這是一位27歲之男性，他發現其左顳部有一腫塊已有2個月。它的質地堅硬，大小約6×6×3公分，不可移動且不會壓痛。組織切片病理檢查結果為發炎性假性腫瘤，1週後病患接受腫瘤廣泛性切除手術。手術後發現病患左顳部些微凹陷，左側眉毛無法上抬。手術後30個月追蹤並無腫瘤復發之跡象。發炎性假性腫瘤常見之部位有肺部、肝臟、腎臟和眼框。但它也可以在小孩和大人之身體各處被發現，在此，我們報告一病例，它的病理發現，我們的處理，及文獻回顧。

Inflammatory pseudotumor is an uncommon benign tumor of unknown cause that occurs most commonly in the lung. It is extremely rare in the oral and maxillofacial region. We report a case of inflammatory pseudotumor, located over left temporalis muscle in a 27-year-old male patient who found a mass over left temporal region 2 months prior to seeking medical attention. It was a hard mass, 6×6×3 cm in size, which was not movable and with no tenderness. Incisional biopsy followed by pathology report revealed inflammatory pseudotumor. Wide excision of the tumor was performed 1 week later via the route of coronary incision. Mild depression of left temporal area and loss of the ability to elevate left eyebrow were found. Post-operative 30-month follow up showed no local recurrence of the tumor. Inflammatory pseudo- tumor occurs commonly in the lung, liver, kidney, and orbit, but may be seen in a wide variety of locations in both children and adults. Here, we present pathologic findings and management of our case and a review of the literature.
