摘要

劉大任(1939～　)，江西人，因國共內戰隨其父輾轉來台，在台受完大學教育後赴美留學，並長期居住美國，工作之餘，全心致力於小說等創作。從處女作《紅土印象》至中年時期的《晚風習習》，有多篇呈現父子之間的代溝問題，進而藉此表達對現實政治與國家前途的關懷。小說同時也反映了20世紀兩岸所面臨的種種挑戰和困境，展現了深邃且複雜的思想內容。此外，劉大任小說在生活細節描繪，和揭示人生意義層面亦取得豐碩且傲人的成果。本論文將就小說中關於父子主題加以探究，希冀彰顯他在小說藝術方面的成就。

Liu Da-Jen(1939- ) was born in Jiang-Si, later followed his parents to Taiwan because of the National-Communist parties' domestic war. After finished his college education in Taiwan, he went to the United States for advanced study, and stayed and worked there afterwards. In the spare time during his stay, he had written a lot of novels. From the first title ”Red Earth Image” to mid-term ”Evening Breeze”, using the characters of father and son as a subject in his novels, he had skillfully demonstrated the generation gap and the ethics of human relationship. His works even reflected the challenge and difficulty lay between the two sides of Taiwanese Strait, and further expressed his deep concerns for the nation's future and its political reality as a writer. Whether it is a short piece or a novel, he had always presented his complicated and thorough thought. In the descriptions of the details in live as well as the exploration of its true meaning, he had done a remarkable job. This paper will try to further discuss this subject in order to emphasize his great achievement in novel writing.
