摘要

過去二十年來，由於口腔植體的出現與多種不同設計的人工植體被應用在口腔治療中，不管是治療或是商機，業已造成牙醫世界的創新與革命。本文獻回顧的第二部分著重在病因與治療的互動。文中也同時藉由科學證據與被證實的技術來討論植體失敗的病理變化以及所對應的治療。除了生物性因素造成的失敗外，其他的併發症也將由不同的論點包括解剖位置、手術方式、與假牙贗復的角度來加以探討。宿主的反應包括系統性與局部性的因素也被證實與植體成功治療與否有關聯性。充分了解不同的病因可以提供臨床醫師處理類似案例的參考依據。

Oral implants had revolutionized the world of dentistry in practice as well as marketing since so many different implant systems were introduced in the past two decades. The second part of this review focused on the interaction between etiology and treatment. The pathogenesis of implant failure in conjuction with the integrated treatment was investigated based on scientific evidence and proven technique. Besides biologic factors of failure, other complicated factors were surveyed from different viewpoints including anatomic location, surgical technique, and prosthetic restoration components. Host responses to implant treatment including systemic and local factors were also proven to be cor-related. The understanding of etiologies in relation to implant failure offers a guide for clinical dentist in the management of patients received dental implant.
