The Relation between Periodontitis and Monocyte Chemoattractant protein-1 Gene Polymorphisms: A Review

摘要


趨化激素是一種受發炎前介質訊號的反應而分泌的物質,主要來調控單核球,嗜中性球和淋巴球細胞聚集及分泌。趨化激素對於傷口癒合,血管新生,腫瘤轉移,發炎反應,宿主防禦都有極大的影響。牙周疾病亦是一種和發炎及宿主防禦相關的疾病。研究指出在疾病的牙周發炎區域有單核球趨化蛋白-1上升傾向。研究也證實這個基因的多型性在許多疾病上皆有影響,但較少著重在與牙周疾病之關聯性。本文藉回顧過去文獻中,從趨化激素的介紹,單核球趨化蛋白-1功能及對牙周疾病之影響,與單核球趨化蛋白-1相關基因多形性之研究及與牙周疾病之關聯作詳盡之一整理,以作爲未來臨床治療及研究之參考。

Chemokines are secreted in response to signals such as proinflammatory cytokines where play an important role in selectively recruiting monocytes, neutrophils, and lymphocytes. The crucial role of chemokines in cell trafficking, chemokine messages initiate signal transduction events leading to other biological processes, such as wound healing, angiogenesis, tumor metastasis, inflammation and host defense. Periodontitis is also association between inflammation and host defense. The chemokine Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1 (MCP-1) was found to he preferentially expressed in diseased periodontal sites. The MCP-1 gene polymorphisms has been associated with a large variety of diseases, but there were few study focus on MCP-1 gene polymorphisms on periodontitis. The purpose of this review is to summarize the findings regarding the role of chemokines in periodontitis, of the information about the role of MCP-1 gene polymorphisms in human diseases and the studies between MCP-1 gene polymorphism and periodontitis.
