《大唐郊祀錄》是由王涇所編纂,內容是記載唐德宗朝祭祀天地神祇與宗廟儀式之國家禮典。《郊祀錄》的編纂,最大的促因來自唐德宗對於郊廟禮儀的關注,因德宗欲藉郊廟禮制的實施,以重振在安史亂後各方面均顯疲弱的唐室皇權。王涇身受中唐強調經世致用的學風影響下,利用「因革」體例來編纂《郊祀錄》,除了說明德宗一朝郊廟禮制的源頭外,還希望展現當朝禮制應合於禮義之用心。同時,「因革」體例的《郊祀錄》也象徵新形態國家禮典即將出現,那就是國家禮典的特色,由《大唐開元禮》所強調今王創制禮制規範的「當代性」與「完整性」,轉變成彙集變禮行用的「沿革性」與「修正性」。

Tang Te-tsung wrapped up in reestablishment of ritual order was the most important cause to edit ”Ta-Tang Chiao-ssu Lu”. It recorded the course of change and development of the ritual system in ”Ta-Tang Chiao-ssu Lu”. So ”Ta-Tang Chiao-ssu Lu” differed from ”Ta-Tang K'ai-yuan Li”. The contents of ”Ta-Tang Kai-yuan Li” was the modern ritual system, but ”Ta-Tang Chiao-ssu Lu” was the anterior ritual code that record the change of the ritual system in China.
