矯正線在矯正治療時對於異常咬合的改正扮演了重要的角色。除了矯正托架外,矯正線是口內固定式矯正裝置中另一個主要成份。我們可以採用一組特定系統的矯正托架,卻需要運用多組不同的矯正線來移動及固定牙齒。在過去幾十年中,不銹鋼,鎳鈦合金,與β-鈦合金等矯正線已陸續地發展出來。當我們瞭解矯正線的材料性質功能時,才能適當的將其應用在矯正治療不整齊或擁擠的各種齒列狀況。本篇將簡短的探討上列所述矯正線的材料性質與其在臨床上的應用。
Archwires play an important role in the correction of malocclusion during orthodontic treatment. Besides brackets, they are one of the two main components in the intra-oral fixed orthodontic devices. On the one hand, normally one set of the brackets of certain prescription may be sufficientasan adapter for the orthodontic archwires. On the other hand, several sets of orthodontic archwires are necessary to generate forces to move teeth. In past decade, archwires such as stainless steal, beta-titanium, nick titanium, and super elastic have thus been gradually developed. Due to the differences in the materials and their physical properties, archwires may be incorporated into treatment mechanics at different stages of treatment forvarious kinds of oral dental conditions. Thus, proper usage may require a thorough understanding of the materials of the anchwires, physical properties, and forces generated. This review will briefly discuss the nature of the archwires listed above and their clinical application.
