Orthodontic Treatment with Maxillary Canine Substitution for Lateral Incisor-A Case Report

摘要

處理有釘狀側門牙合併空間不足的病例，治療方式包含空間重新分佈後，利用復形方式重建側門牙之近遠心寬度與外型，或拔除過小之側門牙並關閉空間，利用犬齒取代側門牙。本病例報告為一位14歲女性患者，主訴左上犬齒阻生，臨床檢查發現合併兩側上顎釘狀側門牙，治療計畫為拔除上顎兩側釘狀側門牙及下顎雙側第二小臼齒，以上顎犬齒與第一小臼齒分別取代側門牙及犬齒，經過26個月的治療，達到穩定的咬合和理想的美觀。

Patients with peg lateral incisors combined space discrepancy can be treated by either replacing or restoring the lateral incisor after space redistribution, or by removing peg lateral incisor and positioning the canine to simulate the lateral incisor. This case report describes the treatment of a 14-year-old female. Her chief complaint is upper left side canine impaction. It is also found she has bilateral peg-shaped maxillary lateral incisors. Treatment involved extraction of two maxillary lateral incisors and two mandibular second premolars. Maxillary canines and first premolars substituted for lateral incisors and canines. After 26 months of treatment, the esthetic was improved and stable occlusion was established.
