摘要

前牙開咬患者常合併前下顏面高度增加、下顎骨角較大、下顎順時針旋轉而呈現下顎後縮之外型。而睡眠呼吸中止症患者顏面外觀亦常見有下顎後縮之外形，因此對於下顎後縮併前牙開咬病患，前牙開咬的治療是否能改善睡眠症狀及對於上呼吸道的影響為一值得探討之議題。本篇文獻回顧為探討下顎與牙齒在垂直向度上之改變與上呼吸道關聯，同時並探討止鼾器垂直高度及手術治療前牙開咬對於呼吸道之影響，期待能找出前牙開咬併有呼吸道症狀患者治療方面的依據。

Anterior open bite often combines with longer anterior facial height, higher mandibular plane angle, mandible clockwise rotation and mandible retrognathism. The facial profiles of patients with OSA (obstructive sleep apnea syndrome) also often reveal mandible retrognathism. Therefore, it is an interesting subject that whether treating anterior open bite has the advantage of improving symptom of sleeping problem. This review article is to investigate the correlation of tooth movement in vertical dimension with airway, also investigate the influence of oral appliance height and surgery-treated open bite on airway.
