麗莎蕨、蔓綠絨、斑葉蜘蛛報蛋分別進行對照組(未遮陰處理),40%,60%及80%等四種不同遮陰處理,其中麗莎蕨以60%和80%遮光率對葉片的生長情形最佳,其次為40%遮光率,以對照組(未遮陰處理)葉長最短,而葉寬和葉面積生長情形亦相同。蔓綠絨40%遮光率葉長較佳,其次為60%遮光率,對照組,葉長生長最差是80%遮光率。葉寬以60%遮光率較佳,仍以80%遮光率最差。葉面積40%遮光率和60%遮光率的平均數較高,以80%遮光率的生長最差。斑葉蜘蛛報蛋葉片生長以80%遮光率的葉長、葉寬、葉面積的總平均數均較高,其次為40%遮光率,再其次為60%遮光率,最低的是對照組。周年性栽培三種作物時,麗沙蕨由6月至10月期間,可利用60%或80%遮陰處理,而11月至4月期間則以60%遮陰處理較佳。蔓綠絨需光性較強,因此以40%之遮光最好,蜘蛛抱蛋在8月-12月栽培時,以80%遮光率生長最佳,在83年1-3月栽培時反以40%遮光率最佳。
Leatherleaf fern (Rumohra adiantiformis), Philodendron and Aspidistra veriegata were grown under different shading level, to examine the effects of 0% control, 40%, 60% and 80% of shading levels on plant growth and development. It was found that the plants grown under 60% and 80% shading levels gave the higher leaf length, leaf width and leaf area than those under 40% shading level, the poorest growth was those from control treatment on leatherleaf fern. The highest leaf length was obtained from those under 40% shading level, while the shortest leaf length was those form 80% shading level in Philodendron. Philodendron also showed that 40% and 60% shading teatment gave wider leaf width than those of 80% shading treatment. Aspidistra veriegata showed the best results in terms of leaf length, leaf width and leaf area under 80% shading treatment, followed by 40% then 60 % shading treatment, and the control showed the poorest results. Yearround cultivation of the three plant species showed that the leather fern s grown under 60% or 80% shading treatment during Jun-Oct. and 60% shading treatment during Nov.-Apr. gave the better response, while Philodendron showed stronger light requirement, so as 40 % shading gave better results. Aspidistra veriegata grew best under 80% shading environment during Aug-Dec., but during Jan-Mar. 1994, it was found that 40% shading treatment was better.
