＂Essays in Gu Hwan Tang＂ is a 4-volumed monograph, probing into poetry, by Tian Wen. The main body of this thesis would start from Tian Wen's background of literary arena and his personal outlook on poetry to analyze the book in accordance with the content of poetry theory. The analysis would focus on two parts. The first part would illustrate the life of Tian Wen, the trend and his position in certain literary circles. The second part would analyze Tian Wen's theory of poetry in ＂Essays in Gu Hwan Tang＂ The analysis would expound and discuss this work according to Tian Wen' s outlook on poetry, individually theorized poetry modes, and commentaries by experts from then on.
