本研究旨在瞭解國小學童的善終概念,以1019位學童為研究對象,採調查研究方法,以自編國小學童善終概念開放式及結構式問卷分別蒐集質與量的資料。研究對象的善終概念共有十九項,可歸類為「內在期待」、「壽終正寢」及「臨終環境」三個因素。「內在期待」因素包含「已完成重要的事」、「沒有遺憾」、「完成願望」、「沒有煩惱」、「自己或家人不悲傷」、「親友兒女幸福」、「情緒穩定」、「家人的陪伴祝福」、「安心」、「開心的帶著微笑」、「安詳」等十一項。「壽終正寢」因素包含「躺在自己的床上」、「家裡」、「睡夢中」、「自然的死亡」、「老死」等五項。「臨終環境」因素包含「在美麗的大自然中」、「周遭環境乾淨舒適」、「安靜的」等三項。最後,本研究提出在生命教育教學及未來研究的建議,供相關人員參考。
The purpose of this study was to understand elementary school students' concept of a good death. The survey research method was adopted; the total sample size was 1019 students. An open-questionaire and a structured-questionaire, developed by researcher, on elementary school students' concept of good death, were used as the instruments to collect the qualitative and quantitative data.Results of this study showed that the subjects' concept of good death were comprised of 19 items that could be categorized as one of 3 factors. ”closure”, ”end of life” and ”dying environment”.Factor 1, ”closure”, contained 11 concepts: ”important things have been completed”, ”no regret”, ”desire to complete”, ”no vexation”, ”oneself or family are not sad”, ”relatives, friends and children are happy”, ”emotional stability”, ”family and friends are around and give blessing”, ”peace of mind”, ”with a happy smile”, and ”serene”.Factor 2, ”end of life”, contained 5 concepts: ”lie down in one's own bed”, ”at home”, ”in sleep”, ”to die naturally”, and ”old enough to death”.Factor 3, ”dying environment”, contained 3 concepts: ”in the beautiful nature”, ”clean and comfortable environment ”, and ”quiet surrounding”.Finally, the researcher brought up suggestions about life education and for future research.
