三浦哲郎における大文豪．川端──書簡と川端康成文学賞を通して──

川端康成文学賞は優れた短編小説に贈られる栄誉である。その「川端康成」という名を冠した文学賞の最多受賞者であり、さらに同文学賞の選考委員も務めた三浦哲郎（1931－2010）にとって、川端康成は名実ともに「短篇の名手」であることを保証してくれる存在である。しかし三浦哲郎と川端康成という二人の作家については、川端が没する1972年までの文壇活動が重なる期間は約11年間あり、文芸誌に肩を並べて掲載されることもあったが、2人は同時代作家として括られてはいない。単に世代差という隔たりだけでなく、三浦は太宰治を敬愛している井伏鱒二の門下であり、そのような三浦と川端とでは、複雑な人間関係の構図ゆえに比較される機会はなかった。しかし直接的な交友録や対談はなくとも、川端の『掌の小説』を模範とした掌編小説が川端康成文学賞を2度受賞するなど、三浦文学の礎には確実に川端康成という存在が大きくあることを、2021年に初公開された川端からの書簡（1967年11月5日付）を中心に見ていきたい。さらに、その書簡を川端が認めるに至った三浦の『結婚』（1972）という作品を繙き、なぜ『結婚』という作品が川端の目に留まったのかを明らかにしたい。

For Miura Tetsuo (1931-2010), the most frequent recipient of the Kawabata Yasunari Literary Award and a member of its selection committee, Kawabata Yasunari is a guarantee that he is a "master of the short story," both in name and reality. However, although the activities of the two writers, Miura Tetsuo and Kawabata Yasunari, overlapped for about 11 years until Kawabata 's death in 1972, and they were sometimes published side by side in literary magazines, they are not considered contemporaries. Not only is there a generational gap, but Miura was a student of Ibuse Masuji, who admired Dazai Osamu, and as such, Miura and Kawabata had no opportunity to be compared due to the complex composition of their human relationships. However, even if there is no direct record of their friendship or conversation, the presence of Kawabata Yasunari is certainly a major factor underlying Miura 's literature, as his palm novels modeled after Kawabata 's "Tanagokoro no Shōsetsu (Palm-of-the-Hand Stories)" twice won the Kawabata Yasunari Literary Award. To clarify this, we will focus on a letter from Kawabata sent to Miura (dated November 5, 1967), which was first published in 2021. Furthermore, we would like to peruse Miura 's work "Kekkon (Marriage)" (1972), which led Kawabata to write and send the letter, and clarify why this work caught Kawabata 's attention.
