越南新移民子女國小適應議題之個案研究

A Case Study on Issues of Elementary School Adjustment for Children of Vietnamese New Immigrants

摘要


本研究旨在探討臺中市國小越南籍新移民子女之適應議題研究,採立意取樣,對臺中四所國小共13名學生及相關師生進行訪談與觀察。所得研究結果如下:一、生活適應:新移民子女若能克服語言問題,則在學校或一般生活均適應良好,且臺灣本地同學對其態度均一視同仁。二、學習動機:新移民子女與一般學生無異,有些導師甚至認為新移民子女學習動機比臺灣本地學生更強。三、國籍認同:無論是否在臺灣出生,在臺灣長大的新移民子女,一般對臺灣有認同感,自認為臺灣人。四、支援系統:政府雖有針對新移民家庭之福利政策,但推廣不足,成效不彰。而在越南語課程之支援上,雖有在校開課,但學生選讀意願低。最後,本研究依據研究結果提出若干建議,供教育相關單位、學校教師及新移民子女家長參考。

This research aims to explore the adjustment issues of Vietnamese new immigrant children in primary schools in Taichung City. Through purposive sampling, the researcher conducted interviews and observations with thirteen children of Vietnamese new immigrants in four elementary schools. The researcher also interviewed their homeroom teachers and classmates, and analyses the data with qualitative method. The research results are concluded as follows: 1. If language problems are solved, children of new immigrants can generally adapt well whether in life or at school. Besides, from the aspect of classmates, students primarily have the same attitude towards children of new immigrants as the ordinary ones. 2. In terms of learning motivation, children of new immigrants are no different from Taiwanese students; additionally, some homeroom teachers even think that children of new immigrants are more motivated. 3. Children of new immigrants growing up in Taiwan have a common sense of identity with Taiwan and consider themselves Taiwanese, regardless of whether they were born in Taiwan or not. 4. Despite the fact that the government has a welfare policy for new immigrant families, the promotion of it is insufficient and the actual effect of implementation is also implicit. Also, most of the homeroom teachers believe that though Vietnamese courses in schools are being promoted, students' willingness to choose them is still low. Based on the findings, in the end, this research puts forward relevant suggestions as reference for schools and future research.
