《楚辭•招魂》之「恐懼意象」探討

Zhao Hun: An Initial Exploration of Fear Imagery

摘要


〈招魂〉一文,作為屈原《楚辭》浪漫主義的代表篇章,在「意象」方面的表現,具有多面向探討的價值;而其中「恐懼意象」的運用手法,更是長久以來,學者閱讀時所矚目的焦點。本文分析屈原〈招魂〉中「恐懼意象」的經營,初步發現以下特色:其一,屈原〈招魂〉中的「恐懼意象」,乃是融合楚文化發展歷程中,各階段與各時期的歷史、神話,形成特有的地理觀點;其二,〈招魂〉「恐懼意象」的寫作,具有「反常」與「模糊、神祕」之特色,乃「虛實相生」的最佳表現;其三,〈招魂〉一文,就廣義意象的觀點分析,可發現其中的「恐懼意象」,乃一「逐層強化的恐懼空間」,綿密且全面地營造「恐懼」氛圍。

Zhao Hun, one of Qu Yuan's representative chapters in Chu Tzu, abounds in multifaceted interpretations worth exploring in light of the construction of ”imagery.” ”Fear imagery,” in particular, has constantly been the research focus for the scholars. The article aims to analyze the construction of the ”fear imagery” in Qu Yuan's Zhao Hun. Initial findings involve features as follow: firstly, ”fear imagery” in Qu Yuan's Zhao Hun creates a unique geographical spectacle through the fusion of histories and myth of different phase and periods on the pathway of Chu's cultural development; secondly, the creation of ”fear imagery” features ”the uncanny” and ”the vague” and ”the mysterious”, illustrating ”mutual promotion between truth and fiction”; thirdly, analyzing from a broad perspective on ”imagery,” the essay argues that ”fear imagery” in Zhao Hun is a ”reinforcing fear space”, creating overwhelmingly ”fearful” atmosphere.
