台大附設動物醫院急診室寵物意外事件之病例分析

Analysis of Accidental Caseloads of 24-Hour Emergency Medicine Service for Small Animals in National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital

摘要


為了解北台灣伴侶動物意外事件發生之原因與預後,分析國立台灣大學生物資源暨農學院附設動物醫院急診中心自93年5月至94年10月之犬貓因意外事件就診病例709例,占急診中心總病例數之12.7 %(709/5579)因為急診中心第三常見病例。在犬隻意外事件分析中,「車禍」(226例,38.8 %)、「與狗爭鬥」(78例,13.4%)、及「由高處摔落」(75例12.9 %)等三類為最常見之意外事件。而在貓隻意外事件分析中,「由高處摔落」(33例,26.2%)、「車禍」(28 例,22 .2%)、及「中毒」(14例,11.1%)等三類則最為常見。在治療結果分析,犬隻於急救中或急救後死亡者有72例,佔犬隻病例之12.3 %(72/583),貓隻則有24例於急救中或急救後死亡,佔貓隻病例之19 %(24/126)。

In order to understand the causes and prognosis of companion animal accidental events in northern Taiwan, 709 cases which were admitted to the Emergency Center of the National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital were analyzed from May, 2004 to October, 2005. They accounted for the third most common cases (709/5579, 12.7%) in the total caseloads of the Emergency Center. About the analysis of canine cases, hit by car (38.8%), inter-dog fighting (13.4%), and falling from high buildings (12.9%) were the three most popular causes. Whereas falling from high buildings (26.2%) were most common in feline cases, the second and third most common causes were hit by car (22.2%) and poisoning (11.1 %). About the analysis of the prognosis, 12.4% of dogs and 19.1 % of cats died during or after treatment.
