This report illustrated the perioperative nursing care for an out-patient with cervical conization via OPD surgical procedure. The nursing period was from December 8(superscript th) to 10(superscript th), 2008. The major health problems of the patient were analyzed and stated in relation to her operation phases: during the preoperative phase, the patient suffered from anxiety derived from lack of knowledge and experience regarding the operation; during the intraoperative phase, the patient faced the risks of injury from the operative procedure and equipments which may be life threatening; finally, in the postoperative phase, the patient experienced deficiency in the knowledge of self-care. Based on these assessments, the RN successfully provided an individualized and appropriated care plan to support the patient to experience a safe and contented surgical treatment and nursing care.
