Malignant ascites is a common complication that develops in patients with advanced cancer. Most patients with malignant ascites have limited survival time. Therefore, the purpose of treatment is to alleviate the uncomfortable and distressed symptoms associated with malignant ascites, and to promote the patients' life quality. If patients are too weak to withstand the invasive therapy (”Eliminating methods” in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), we can use Chinese medicine to strengthen Qi of Spleen, induce diuresis and excrete dampness through ascites tapping and drainage. If the patients still have Qi existing, we should choose curative ways to effectively treat the cancer patients. That is the way to reduce the occurrence of ascites, to prolong the patients' survival time, and to improve their quality of life.
