To Evaluate the Decay Gamma Ray along the Central Thimble Hole of Taoyuan Research Reactor Using TLD Technique

摘要


本研究可對於將來核反應爐的拆解時可將數據結果用來評估工作人員在拆解反應爐時,所接受暴露的依據,台灣研究用核反應器(TRR)於1978~1988使用,1988年後永久停用,中央管壁材質受到中子活化,本實驗目的為定義其中央管壁內之射源以及分析內部射源強度之分佈狀況,校正好的TLD依序分組置於不同厚度純鉛片中,於核反應爐的管壁中進行暴露,結果顯示管壁中的射源衰減係數介於鈷-60理論值與鈷-60照射場照射時所求得衰減係數之間,除了鈷-60核種之外無其他核種存在於中央管中,而中央管壁中的輻射強度分佈中,最高與次高的劑量率高峰,分別出現在290cm與650cm,鈷-60核種活化了此兩處特定之區域,造成此兩點之劑量高峰。

The decay gamma ray along the central thimble hole of Taoyuan Research Reactor using TLD technique was evaluated in this study. The TRR (Taoyuan Research Reactor) was permanently shut down in 1988. The surrounding materials around the central thimble hole had been activated by neutron during the reactor operation and still have the measurable amount of decay gamma ray. The well calibrated TLDs coupled with the various thickness of lead shield were applied to verify Co-60 as the major radionuclide along the central thimble hole. The dominant decay gamma ray peaks along the central thimble hole appeared at 290 cm and 650 cm, respectively reflecting to either upper or lower thermal shield of the TRR.
