黃君璧作品市價初探
Pricing Huang Junbi's (Hwang Chun-pi) Masterpieces: A Tentative Forecast

黃君璧是近半世紀以來台灣地區中國水墨畫之代表性人物，從研究其作品在藝術市場實際交易之情況，不僅可以研判黃氏在現代中國藝術史上地位，亦可爲台灣當代中壯輩藝術家作品進入華人藝術市場一窺可能之發展。本文選取頗具影響力之香港蘇富比、佳士得、中國嘉德、北京翰海、中貿聖佳、北京榮寶、北京華辰、上海朵雲軒、上海敬華、上海崇源等十家拍賣公司2004年以來之相關資料加以分析。近兩年間黃氏作品基本上是維持階梯式上升的總趨勢，截至2005年年底，平均每平方尺已達人民幣31,133元，折合台幣爲124,687.66元。分析發現，拍品來源之可靠性極爲重要、意頭好之作品備獲青睞、特殊題材之畫作較能突顯「物以稀爲貴」之市場效應、晚期之山水作品往往能拍得高價。至2006年上半年，截至六月，十大拍賣公司所成交之20件黃君璧作品，平均價格每平方尺爲人民幣32,722元，折合台幣131,051元。換言之，黃氏作品拍價並未回落，反見微幅調升，足見其作品確實係當前良好之藝術投資標的。

For nearly a half century, Prof. Huang Junbi has been the best-known traditional water-and-ink painter in Taiwan. A survey of how his masterpieces change hands on the art market will reveal the importance of Prof. Huang in modern Chinese art history and provide a roadmap for a younger generation of Taiwan artists who are pondering the first steps toward a commercial debut of their works among Chinese collectors and connoisseurs. This article is an analysis of auction data from such well-known auction houses as Hong Kong's Sotheby and Christie, and China's Guardian Auctions Company, Beijing Hanhai Art Auction Co., Ltd, Sungari Auction Company, Beijing Rong Bao Zhai, Beijing Huachen Auctions Company, Shanghai's Duo Yun Xuan Art Auctioneers, Jinghua Auctions Company, and Shanghai Chongyuan Art Auctions Co., Ltd. Since 2004, Prices of Huang's works steadily went up during the last two year, averaging Rmb 31,133 yuan (or NT$124,687.66) per square foot as of late 2005. The analysis shows, while credible provenance of the auctioned pieces is stressed, works with an auspicious connotation are most popular. On the other hand, special-theme works are much sought-after because of their scarcity. Landscapes from Prof. Huang's late years also fetch exorbitant prices. In the first half of 2006, the 20 Hunag Junbi works sold at the 10 auction houses averaged Rmb 32,722 yuan (or NT$131,051) per square foot. This shows a moderate hike in the prices of Huang's works, instead of a slump. Investment in these artworks is certainly advisable.
