Paiwan aborigine ethnic group in Taiwan possesses the richest artistic talent, especially in the creation of clothing, carvings and clay pots. Paiwan's traditional costumes of the totem are the most beautiful and most abundant among 14 indigenous races in Taiwan. From the traditional costumes of Paiwan one can recognize the status of their identity. The Paiwan tribal traditional costumes are similar by their color and they are differentiated only by the designs of totem. This study is involved in the fieldwork of Austronesian wedding series of activities held by the Sandiman township office, Pingtung County on November 19, 2011. The leader of the Traditional Costume Research Center in Sandiman Township explains the meaning of the different totems in the designs and also the role of creation in order to establish the database of the clothing totem illustrations.
