As raising the level of life, beauty and hairdressing industries are developing rapidly. However, the waste water of beauty products (such as hair dyes) might harm to the environment. The purpose of this study was to discover soil bacteria which can remove hair dye pigments from aquatic solutions. Using a commercial hair dye as matrix, the enrichment culture method was applied to obtain bacteria. Two bacterial strains were isolated, named B16 and B21. The sequences of 16S rRNA of these two bacteria were submitted to Genbank for species identification. The result showed that both B16 and B21 were highly similar to Pseudomonas putida. These two bacteria could be used for removing hair dye pigments for the hairdressing industry.
