This article aims to explore the Taoist Qingtu ritual, practiced in southern Taiwan, and Anlong diantu ritual, practiced in Northern Taiwan. Firstly we analyze the concrete process and content of these two rituals. After that we further interpret the notion of earth and its modem meaning of these two rituals. We think that the notion of earth of these two rituals has three main points: connecting the source of cosmos, reconstructing the order of earth and expressing confession, prayer and gratitude to earth. We can realize deeply the notion of earth of Taiwan Han people, and in addition understanding the modern meaning of the notion through this exploration.
