This article is based on the nursing experience of an elderly adult with sarcopenia using the Friedman family assessment model. Interviews were conducted during the nursing period from April 16 to May 10, 2019. Further, the interviews involved observations and data collection regarding case. It was found that the 77-year-old case had poliomyelitis, muscle weakness of the upper and lower limbs, lack of exercise. Additionally, we established that the patient had a vitamin D deficiency and inadequate protein intake. To avoid severe sarcopenia, we provided necessary health education, informing the patient of a diet that could replenish muscle synthesis. Simultaneously, we encouraged health practices and proper exercise to maintain a healthy life and to promote the body's muscle mass. Good health can lead to a good quality of life. Additionally, to avoid falls, weakness and disability caused by sarcopenia, family caregivers will become burden. It is recommended that individuals improve the food preservation and maintain clean waste management methods regarding the home environment. A healthy and hygienic home environment can reduce fruit flies' breeding that can cause cholera, typhoid and other infectious diseases.
