民間救護車緊急救護技術員繼續教育訓練需求之質性研究
A Qualitative Study of Continuing Education and Training Needs among Emergency Medical Technicians in Private Ambulance Companies
摘要
目的：民間救護車緊急救護技術員（簡稱救護員）是健康照護服務的前線人員之一，缺乏適當訓練可能影響病人安全。本研究旨在探討民間救護車救護員繼續教育訓練需求。方法：採質性研究法，半結構式問卷進行訪談。以立意取樣選取6名臺北市及新北市民間救護車公司中，曾接受繼續教育訓練之救護員為研究對象。訪談內容以錄音及筆記等方式蒐集，並轉錄成逐字稿進行分析。結果：研究發現民間救護車救護員工作內容以院際間轉診、出院服務及非緊急運輸為主，與目前繼續教育訓練內容有所差距。其訓練需求包括內科疾病照護、英文醫學術語、與醫療專業人員之溝通與交班、管路認識與維護和感染管控等。結論：建議政府或民間單位能依民間救護車救護員之實務需求規劃並提供教育訓練，以提升專業技能及病人安全。

Objective: Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) of private ambulance companies are frontline personnel providing health care services, but insufficient training may jeopardize patient safety. This study aimed to explore the needs of continuing education training for EMTs in private ambulance companies. Methods: A qualitative study along with in-depth interviews was performed. Six EMTs working in private ambulance companies in Taipei City and New Taipei City and had received continuing education training were selected as the study subjects by purposive sampling. Data was collected through audio recordings and notes and transcribed for analysis. Results: The study found that EMTs of private ambulance companies mainly perform inter facility patient transfers, discharge services, and non-emergency transports, which are different from the contents of current continuing education training. The training needs include internal disease care, medical terminology in English, handover and communication with medical professionals, knowledge of medical tubing and maintenance, and infectious disease control and prevention. Conclusion: The current study suggests that the public or private sectors should organize and provide education training programs based on the needs of EMTs in private ambulance companies so as to enhance their expertise and ensure patient safety.
