There is a Li Bai's authentic work "Up to the Balcony Post" in the collection of The Palace Museum, Beijing. It is said that in the third year of Tian-Bao (AD 744), Li Bai and Du Fu met in Luo-Yang city, and traveled to Wang-Wu Mountain together with Gao Shi and others. He wrote this post after they climbed to the balcony in the palace of Wang-Wu Mountain. Regarding this post, there is no direct evidence to prove the time and place of this writing. And it has been handed down to the present, not only are there no rock carvings and rubbings, but also the document are impossible to revise before the Sung and Yuan Dynasties. Whether it is the original work of Li Bai, or whether it is an imitation or fake volume from the Sung Dynasty is still an issue to be clarified. The author organizes the content, circulation, and authenticity doubts of Li Bai's "Post on the Balcony". Hopefully it will serve as a start for future research on this issue, and that his post will be able to verify the identity and determine its true status in the history of Chinese calligraphy.
