The article is dedicated to the analysis of the grotesque in the works N.V. Gogol's ”Nose” and M.A. Bulgakov's ”Heart of a Dog”. In the article, special attention is paid to the methods of creation of the grotesque by each author. The similarities and contracts in the use of these methods for the characters’ images are studied in the article as well.
