This study reports on ESP (English for specific purposes) instruction of technology industries for students in the department of applied foreign languages of a technical university. The instruction was conducted by a teacher with academic subject background, work experience and English proficiency that succeeded in leading students to an effective meaningful learning. The results suggested that students have benefited from the instruction and had a better performance on the final grade. Those with higher achievement showed better self-discipline, participation and motivation in attending the class so that they were more competent to learn such a technological and professional ESP course.
