摘要

為防止乳牙過早喪失後所造成的問題，一般會放置空間維持器，但是臨床上常會遇到軟組織受到空間維持器壓迫、牙齒萌發受影響、牙齒不正常的移動、牙菌斑堆積、造成齲齒及裝置本身的破損或完全喪失等問題，因而造成空間維持器的失敗。本文主要是探討空間維持器的各種失敗原因，並提出預防方案。

The space maintainers may prevent the problems of premature loss of primary teeth. However, the use of space maintainers have potential disadvantages including broken, dislodged or lost appliances, soft tissue lesions, interference with tooth eruption, plaque accumulation, dental caries, and unwanted tooth movement. The purposes of this article are to evaluate the causes of space maintainer failure and to discuss the prevention of space maintainer failure.
