This paper intends to discuss the foreign relations between Australia and the South Pacific Island-States. It also analyses what possible foreign policies Taiwan may adopt while dealing with the South Pacific Island-States and Australia. The concepts of power and national interest interpreted by Australia, South Pacific Island-States, Taiwan and China will be the main issues while the author tries to find out new thinking for Taiwan's foreign policies makers. These new thinking include ”promoting the image of Taiwan-State”, ”accepting a great amount of Tuvalu migrants” and ”working together with the Fa Lun Gong for the common belief of human rights”. Through the cooperation between the ruling and opposition party, it is likely that Taiwan might win more supports from out friendly countries.
