The study is aimed to explore relationships among weight training goals, muscle checking and exercise addiction. Participants were recruited from the fitness center. A total of 148 participants, with an average age of 24.75 (SD = 2.85) year old, and average body fat was 18.51 (SD = 5.66) %. Participants completed background information, Male Body Checking Questionnaire and Exercise Addiction Inventory. The result indicated that 75.0% of the participants participated in weight training with the goal of muscle building. The muscle checking of men who participated in weight training for the purpose of muscle building was the highest, which was significantly higher than weight control group. There is a significant positive correlation between muscle checking and exercise addiction for the muscle building and weight control groups.Generally, men who engage in weight training will have higher muscle checking behaviors when their training focuses on muscle building, which may increase the probability of exercise addiction. Suggestion : In weight training, avoid excessive focus on body appearance, and muscle building behaviors may reduce the probability of exercise addiction and increase the benefits of weight training exercises.
