Perineal wound pain is the most troublesome problem for mothers after childbirth. This not only causes difficulties in postpartum activities, but also affects quality of life, and may also affect the willingness of mothers to take care of their newborns. This article mainly discusses the effect of ice compress on perineal wound pain reduction by women after vaginal delivery. It was published in the four databases of Huayi Online Library, PubMed, Medline and Cochrane Library in the past 10 years (2011 to 2020). The Chinese and English literature were reviewed and included in four randomized controlled trials. According to the results of the study, postpartum perineal ice compress can effectively relieve the perineal pain of postpartum women. This method is non-invasive and easy to implement. Upon above results, we recommended to implement in obstetric clinical care and is useful for improving the postpartum quality of life of vaginal delivery women.
