觀看,具有一種解構文本的沉默力量。文本裡符號的位置與其聚集軌跡,既可反映相對應的知識體系,讓書寫的思維理路得以浮現。進而,透露作者意圖的所在。因此,憑藉符號的觀看,能透視文本的內部運作與架構,覺察到不同學科的話語流動,呈現另一種的詮釋面貌。緊扣在文本的歷史環境背景下,觀看〈臨床講義〉的符號展示,藉以闡釋蔣渭水的寫作策略與文化改造論述,再現〈臨床講義〉書寫的意指。〈臨床講義〉特有的臨床診斷書格式,及其符號本身的多重意指,交織出醫學、文學與政治三者之間的互文性。例如,病患身份的基本資料,在符號置放效果的營造下,能呈現政治性寫作的協商過程,並指涉其隱喻。進而,透過擬人論的台灣,在病態與健康的身體敘事下,反映過去的文化記憶、脫離世界文明時間的停滯現狀,以及擘畫體質改造後的活力未來。除此之外,在身體語言的表徵上,蔣渭水其醫師與社會運動者的雙重身份,使得文學語言與生理器官、病理症狀的身體敘事,能夠巧妙地結合在一起,並製造文學文本中一種虛擬與想像的遊戲結構。進而,指涉蘊含政治意圖的申論性話語,顯示〈臨床講義〉對於身體與疾病隱喻的書寫特色。
Interpretation imposes silent deconstructive forces on the text. The appearance and trajectory of the signs in a text reflect corresponding body of knowledge and disclose the logic of writing, showing where the author's intention may lie. The interpretation of signs reveals the internal working and structure of a text, exposes the language flow in different disciplines, and enables an alternative explanation. This paper examines the display of signs in ”Clinical Lecture” in the historical context of the text in order to investigate Jiang Wei-shui's strategies of writing and theory of cultural reformation and to re-present the intention of writing in ”Clinical Lecture.”Written in the special genre of clinical medical record and containing intext signs that have plural reference possibilities, ”Clinical Lecture” demonstrates the intertextuality of medical science, literature, and politics. For instance, via the working of signs, basic information of the patient can point to the process of negotiation in political writing and create metaphoric references. Consequently, the anthropomorphism of Taiwan through the narrative of body in illness and well-being reflects the cultural memory of the past, departs from the stagnancy in time in world civilization, and imagines the energetic future after the betterment of the physique.In addition, Jiang Wei-shui, as both a doctor and a participant in social movements, is able to employ the language of the body to combine the lan guage of literature with narratives of the body that describes bodily organs and pathological symptoms. Thus, he creates in literary text a virtual and imaginative game structure. This paper shows how such combination enables a reference to argumentative language with political intentions in the text and reveals the working of metaphoric body and illness in ”Clinical Lecture” as a characteristic of writing.
