The case report describes a three-month treatment course of Traditional Chinese Medicine in a 50-year-old woman who has experienced perimenopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats. The patient's symptoms, especially night sweats, improve significantly after intervention. Both sleep deprivation and life stress can precipitate night sweats in this case. A mixed formula of Chinese herbs containing mainly dang-gui-liu huang-tang and yi-guan-jian was prescribed for her. Originally, she needed to change clothes due to excessive sweating of the upper body. After treatment, only small amount of sweating of the back and elbows was noted. She does not have to change clothes anymore while sleeping. The frequency of night sweats has decreased from 4~5 times to 1~2 times a week.
