The 81-year-old male patient had a history of gastroesophageal reflux disease. The symptoms of reflux were not obvious at the time of treatment, and repeated chronic cough was the main symptom, accompanied by obvious dry mouth at night, difficulty in sleeping, and easiness to wake up. The treatment with the method of nourishing yin, moistening dryness, and reducing pathogenic fire improved the patient’s syndromes. The use of principles in differentiation of syndromes and pharmacology to make the patient with long-term cough can be significantly relieved after two treatments, so the treatment experience is proposed for clinical reference and application.
