Treatment of Spontaneous Pneumothorax with Chinese Medical Prescription : A Case Report

摘要

Idiopathic spontaneous pneumothorax is a relatively common clinical condition. The management of pneumothorax without tension physiology denpends upon the size of the pneumothorax, the severity of symptoms, and the risk of recurrence. While the management of pneumothorax using Chinese medical prescription reported is very rare. I report on an adolescent male who presented with chest pain, cough and exertional dyspnea. Pneumothorax on the right was diagnosed from the chest x-ray in NTUH, and chest tube drainage was immediately performed. Unfortunately, he had a recurrence of pneumothorax, so he was started on Chinese medical treatment. The patient is currently doing well for 1 year's follow up.

自發性氣胸是臨床常見的急症之一，發病率較高，現代醫學對本病採用胸腔穿刺氣體排除或外科手術等方法，可以使病情得到痊癒或緩解。本病在中醫臨床中，多屬“胸痛”或“肺脹”等範疇，對本病記載很少，而能查到的中醫治療報告亦很少，在此提供中醫藥治療自發性氣胸－案例。筆者根據中醫「扶正祛邪」，「不通則痛」的原則，辨證辨病相結合，採用益氣養陰活血行氣化痰之法，以生脈散與溫膽湯等方藥治療，使胸陽得振，氣機宣暢，通則不痛而告痊癒。
