商用英文寫作對於許多學生而言是一項很挑戰的任務。本研究嘗試透過應用多媒體階層圖當作一個前寫作工具,協助學生進行商用英文寫作。經由一個名為CoCoing.info的多媒體階層圖結合社會學習網絡平台協助,學生可以建構各自的多媒體階層圖,以協助寫作時有所參照。本研究採用準實驗研究法,計有桃園市某大學59名學生參加,其中實驗組32名、對照組27名。實驗每週兩小時,進行十六週,以探討多媒體階層圖對商用英文寫作的成效。研究結果顯示,雖然多媒體階層圖分數與商用英文寫作成績間並無相關性,但實驗組在多媒體階層圖的輔助下,其寫作表現顯著優於對照組,推測可能是多媒體階層圖提升了學生的寫作結構。進一步分析後,發現多媒體階層圖之階層數與商用英文寫作之段落數具有顯著相關性。綜合以上發現,本研究歸納出多媒體階層圖對寫作有效益。
Business English writing for many students is a challenging task. To help students overcome this difficulty, this research used a multimedia hierarchical chart platform named CoCoing.info, which allowed students to present their thoughts in a structured and visual way so that they could refer to them in business English writing. A total of 32 hours of experimental study with 59 students from a university in Taoyuan City was adopted, of which 32 students were grouped as the experimental group and 27 students as the control group to explore the effectiveness of multimedia hierarchy charts in business English writing. The relationship between the scores of the multimedia hierarchy charts and the business English writing scores was involved and evaluated for the study. The results showed that the experimental group's business English writing performance was better than the control group with the aid of the multimedia hierarchy chart. Further analysis in this study found that there was a positive correlation between the number of levels in the multimedia hierarchy chart and the number of paragraphs in business English writing. Therefore, based on the above findings, this study summarized the research conclusions and recommendations on the effectiveness of multimedia hierarchy charts on business English writing.
